General information on BANDIT

Bandit died in his 11th year of life. In all his years he was in top condition! He was vital until his last week of live: five weeks after his death his last litter was born.... For a top stud dog it's great to reach such an old age. For a Bernese Mountain Dog he reached a wonderful age but for us he died far too young! We still often think back at the wonderful time we had together!  We hope his off spring will give as much pleasure and joy as he has given to us!  

On the pedigree (shown below) you'll see that the mother line of Bandit is from Belgium. All dogs in that line are Hip Dysplasia free. The breed line on father's side is from Germany/Switzerland and these dogs are also free on Hip Dysplasia. Of course is Bandit also checked on his hips: and FREE !! This is why Bandit is so frequently used in the Netherlands as a stud dog. He was top stud dog in 1991 and 1992 in the Netherlands. Important ancestors are e.g. Vilja von der Hausmatt and Janis von Barnerhof both from Switzerland.

The Dutch BMD club has an exam on exterior (show) and behaviour (character). Bandit passed both exams with an EXCELLENT. The best result possible.

On regional and (inter-) national shows Bandit got very excellent results. Most of the times he was one of the best of his category. That he is one with top class is proven by his title: Jeugdwinner '88, won at the biggest show of the Netherlands, "The Winner" in Amsterdam.

His children are beautiful, well and sound build and with the right markings. Many of them were on an international show and won many prices:
